Sponsor exciting new educational initiatives in Bangladesh
Get involved as an individual, with a group of friends or as a corporate partner New generation schools | New Early Learning Centres | New trades training | New teacher training program | New Bhola Island head office and teacher training centre
There’s more to school than learning the basics. It’s one lesson we have learned through the experience gained over the past 18 years of building schools in Bangladesh. Now we are moving forward into the future with new initiatives that extend educational opportunities for young minds. Areas that go far beyond the basics of learning to read, write and do maths
- We’re putting in place a new world of learning for pre-school children
- Introducing teacher training to upgrade skills..
- Establishing school leaver trade training to help equip young people with the skills to secure a job in a competitive work force
Improving life in Bangladesh for children and the next generation. Help us do it as a one-off cost or an ongoing charity project.

Bigger schools, semi-brick to make them more solid and long-lasting, with space for an Early Learning Centre. They will replace our oldest schools, where the harsh salt environment of Bhola Island means that some of the oldest buildings are getting beyond repair.
We are now fundraising for the second school at a one-off cost of A$35,000 (US$33,000) |
|
Our Centres will stimulate young minds and create a pleasant first introduction to learning. Each Centre needs two teachers and will support 50 pre-school children.
We see the potential for new early learning centres to be built at many of the existing CO-ID schools.
First year cost is A$8,000 (US$7,500), the ongoing cost is A$2,000 per year (US$1,800) |
|
Senior students will do work experience placements with local businesses and learn valuable “starter” skills. These cover mechanic work, carpentry and using sewing machines.
Fund raising cost: A$9,000 (US$8,500) per year for 50 students

Help us upgrade the skills base of our teachers so they can take the CO-ID programme to new levels. Fund raising cost: A$9,000 (US$8,500) per year |

At present, the CO-ID head office is split between two rented buildings. We are about to lose one of them at lease renewal, but the good news is we have already bought the land for the new permanent office.
A$7,000 has been donated towards the new office. Another $7,000 (US$6,500) will allow the full new building to go up including the teacher training centre. |
